Coda, a short animation directed by Alan Holly, has been voted as the top animation video of 2015 by staff of Vimeo.
Vimeo described the list as “a selection made with care and consideration, and an overwhelming sense of pride for all the filmmakers in this community that make it shine.”
Coda was made available on Vimeo in June and has since amassed 1.4 million views on the popular website. Earlier this year, Coda was shortlisted for an Academy Award® nomination.
Coda is the culmination of two years of hard work by a small team of dedicated animation artists. The film tells the story of a lost soul who stumbles drunkenly through the city. In a park, death finds him and shows him many things.
It has played at international festivals, winning awards including Best Animated Short Film at SXSW and the Most Creative Short Award at the Edinburgh International Short Film Festival.
Coda was produced by Ciarán Deeney for Dublin-based animation studio And Maps and Plans. The music was composed by Shane Holly.
