Berlinale Talents to feature two animation-related events + Programme is online

Dear animation lovers,

Some of you already featured the animation Talents in your media – thank you so much for this! Since two of our 28 public events are related to animation as well, and today our programme went online, I wanted to also bring those events to your attention, here they are:

Puppet Regime: Dogs and Snails in Stop-Motion – 27.02., 17:00-18:30 (HAU 2)

Jay Clarke, the storyboard artist from Isle of Dogs and the Swedish stop-motion artist Niki Lindroth von Bahr turn snails, dogs and other film creatures into stars.

Ctrl Alt Del: Leaving the System – 26.02., 14:00-15:30 (HAU 3)

Game hackers and video essayists on the power dynamics of the web and emergency exits that lead out of the online collective. With Robin Klengel, Kevin B. Lee, Leonhard Müllner and Michael Stumpf. Klengel, Müllner and Stumpf are working together as a loose collective called “Total Refusal – Digital Disaramament Movement” and in their projects they examine the use ego shooter gameplay and game narratives to (de)construct different meanings at odds with the intended game play. Their newest film “How to Disappear” (part of Berlinale Shorts) explores the (im)possibility of desertion in war games.
