Last Sunday the juries from the international and Up & Coming competititon announced the winners of TRICKY WOMEN/TRICKY REALITIES 2019.

A man and a woman meet in a waiting room and immediately get closer to each other. They commence a game that gradually gets more and more ferocious. Their faces resemble masks while shapes slowly lose their integrity.

The jury of the international competition – Olga Bobrowska (StopTrik International Film Festival Maribor & Lodz, film scholar, PL), Amina Handke (artist, author and curator, AT) and Yantong Zhu (animation director, curator the 7th China Independent Animation Film Forum, CN) – annonunced the award winners of the international competition. The jury of the new Up&Coming-Award – Rachel Gutgarts (animation director, TRICKY WOMEN/TRICKY REALITIES Artist in Residence at the Q21/MQ, IL) Sandra Nigischer (women’s network Sorority, journalist) and Jin Yu (animation director, professor at the China Academy of Art, CN) came also to a decision.
After five wonderful festival days with many enthusiastic visitors, film programs, workshops, exhibitions, podium discussions and audience discussions, it’s time for a big thank you! We would like to sincerely thank all visitors, filmmakers, sponsors, partners and guests for many inspiring conversations and encounters and for creating a unique „tricky reality“. It was a special festival for us as well.
