February 8, 2018, Munich – ARRI Media and TRIXTER have agreed on a strategic and operational collaboration in the fields of VFX and animation. In the future and across locations, both postproduction companies will be offering all their visual effects and animation services together. In addition to the coordinated interfaces and optimal scalability, customers will now benefit from a much larger range of services.

ARRI Media-recently a postproduction provider for productions such as Germany’s first Netflix series Dark by Wiedemann & Berg, Babylon Berlin by X Filme, and Fack Ju Goehte 3 by Constantin Film-has to date focused its VFX capacities on feature films and series projects by customers in German-speaking countries. TRIXTER-known among other things for its work on Marvel blockbusters like Thor Ragnarok and Spiderman Homecoming as well as series like Fear The Walking Dead-has predominantly worked with the international movie and series market.

ARRI Media not only brings its own VFX department into the collaboration, but also its entire range of services „From Script to Screen“-from film conception all the way through to final delivery. This expertise is offered from ARRI Media’s head office in Munich as well as its other venues in Berlin, Frankfurt, Halle, and Cologne. In turn, TRIXTER will contribute its experience in VFX and animation along with its branches in Munich, Berlin, and Los Angeles. With the collaboration and almost 400 staff members in total, the two partners will now work the global VFX and animation market with a bigger footprint and even more wide-reaching competence. Together, ARRI Media and TRIXTER offer the entire spectrum of services for high-budget international features and series, national film and TV productions, advertising and industrial films, as well as virtual and augmented-reality projects.

VPET (Virtual Production Editing Tool) and Apple ARKit visualize set extensions in real studio environment.

We are developing a holistic approach for collaborative tools that allow real-time on-set light, asset and animation editing via an intuitive interface. VPET is a tablet based onset editing application to work within a virtual production environment. It is designed to run on mobile and head mounted devices allowing easy access to operators without dedicated training. It provides functionality to edit assets during a virtual shooting and synchronize changes with the film pipeline. VPET communicates through a network interface to main applications and other clients, allowing live editing of object, light and animation parameters. The development is open-source and particularly considers established (offline) film pipelines.

I’m Natalia Freitas  and here are a few things about myself =)

I’m originally from Belo Horizonte / Minas Gerais – Brazil.  In 2005 I started a Bachelor degree in Classical Animation at the Escola de Belas Artes – UFMG. In 2009 I graduated and started working as a 2D animator. In 2010 I began to teach myself 3D techniques using tutorials and by 2011 I dedicated much of my time to improving my 3D skills and I fell in love with it. Thanks to my new knowledge in 3D and the art works I have done, I was one of three artists to receive a scholarship from the German government to study in their country with all expenses paid (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst).

In 2012 I moved to Germany and applied to a post-graduation position at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg (Animationinstitut) in Ludwigsburg.  It was up to me to be approved! If I was not, then I would lose the schlolarship. Fortunately, I was one of the three candidates selected to their „Quereinstieg“ program. There I worked on over 15 student projects and also direct my own short. When I got there, my plan was to become a better 3D animator but I discovered my true calling as a 3D artist.

Update: Here are some of the works that I did during the time that I was at the Walt Disney Animation Studios (Moana), Sony Pictures Imageworks (Hotel Transylvania 3_not yet released) and Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg.
