The Disney Art Challenge

A contest to highlight the talent of tomorrow

The Disney Art Challenge (DAC) was created in 2013 by The Walt Disney Company France in partnership with RECA, the French Network of Animation Schools, to highlight the talent and creativity of French students in graphic arts.

Recognizing young talent is so important; these up-and-coming artists are the future of our medium. I love seeing the work of these fantastic students and am always inspired by their energy and fresh perspective.” indicates John Lasseter, Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, and President of the DAC Jury.

The competition has become a reference for tomorrow’s talent and offers the 3 winners the recognition of great animation artists, other professionals, and specialist journalists who are animation buffs, and also the Disney Art Challenge grant to help them complete their training. The winners will also receive a diploma and a trophy.

Over 1,000 students have taken part in the Disney Art Challenge since its creation.
