Das ITFS lädt alle Kinder zwischen zehn und zwölf Jahren, die Filme und das Kino lieben, herzlich dazu ein, Kinderjuror*innen bei der 30. Jubiläums-Ausgabe des Festivals zu werden.
Als Kinderjuror*innen haben sie die einzigartige Möglichkeit, zu agieren wie eine professionelle Filmjury auf einem internationalen Filmfestival: Gemeinsam mit den anderen Kinderjuror*innen sichten sie spannende Filme, diskutieren gemeinsam darüber und wählen am Ende ihren Siegerfilm aus.
Anschließend vergeben sie bei der feierlichen Tricks for Kids-Preisverleihung im Rahmen des ITFS 2023 auf großer Bühne wie die „großen“ Wettbewerbs-Jurys einen echten Preis an den Gewinnerfilm, in Höhe von 4.000 Euro, gestiftet von Studio 100 Media GmbH | m4e AG.
Die Tricks for Kids-Wettbewerbsprogramme zeigen eine internationale Auswahl aktueller animierter Kurzfilme und Serienepisoden für Kinder, die verzaubern und berühren, unterhalten und zum Nachdenken anregen. In vier Wettbewerbsprogrammen konkurrieren ca. 30 Filme um den Preis für den besten animierten Kurzfilm für Kinder.
Iris Loos, Fachbereichsleiterin junge vhs, die seit 29 Jahren das Tricks For Kids-Programm kuratiert, über die Kinderjury: „Seit 1992 gibt es die Kinderjury im Wettbewerb „Tricks for Kids“. Als Jury und/oder Zuschauer*in der Filmveranstaltungen haben viele Kinder ihre Leidenschaft für den Animationsfilm entfacht und ihre Medienkompetenz erweitert.“
Die Sichtungen und Diskussionen der Kinderjury finden vom 26.-28. April 2023 von 13:30/14 Uhr bis 18/19 Uhr statt. Bei der Preisverleihung (mit vorheriger Probe) am Samstag, 29. April 2023 am Nachmittag haben die Kinderjuror*innen ihren großen Auftritt.
Darüber hinaus werden die Jurymitglieder wie die erwachsenen Wettbewerbs-Jurys auf der Homepage genannt und erhalten eine Freiakkreditierung für das ITFS 2023. Die Juryarbeit wird von einem*r erfahrenen Medienpädagogen*in fachgerecht betreut.
„Die Entscheidungen über „ihre“ Preisträgerfilme sind beeindruckend und bestätigen, dass Kinder sehr gut Qualität in den Geschichten und in der filmischen Umsetzung erkennen können. Die Filmemacher*innen haben diese Anerkennung für ihre Filme immer als große Wertschätzung benannt. Die Gespräche mit den Zuschauer*innen und den Filmemacher*innen sind zusätzlich zu den beeindruckenden Filmen ein Herzstück von Tricks for Kids “, so Iris Loos.
