Für das 30. Internationale Trickfilm-Festival Stuttgart (25.-30. April 2023) können noch bis zum 16. Januar 2023 Animationsfilme für den Internationalen Langfilm-Wettbewerb AniMovie eingereicht werden.

 Einsendeschluss: 16. Januar 2023 

Für den Wettbewerb AniMovie sind Produktionen ab einer Länge von 60 Minuten zugelassen, die zum Zeitpunkt des Festivals noch keine Kinoauswertung in Deutschland hatten.

Reichen Sie Ihr Projekt für die 17. Animation Production Days (APDs) ein! Der wichtigste Koproduktions- und Finanzierungsmarkt für Animationsprojekte im deutschsprachigen Raum findet vom 26. – 28. April in Stuttgart statt.

Es können Projekte aus den Bereichen Film, TV-Serie, Mobile Content, Game, Cross- und Transmedia im Konzept- oder Entwicklungsstadium eingereicht werden. Gesucht werden gestalterisch und inhaltlich originelle, kreative und innovative Projekte.

Die Einreichfrist endet am 9. Februar 2023.

FILM Courage: In Immersive Storytelling The Audience Comes First – Margaret Kerrison

Born in Indonesia and raised in Singapore, Margaret Kerrison received her Master of Fine Arts degree in Screenwriting from the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. Her career spans television, film, digital media, games, brand storytelling, location-based entertainment, and immersive experiences. She has worked as a Story Lead, Story Consultant, and Writer for multiple projects around the world, including Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Star Wars: Launch Bay, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, Avengers Campus, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, National Geographic HQ, and the NASA Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex’s Journey to Mars: Explorers Wanted. She was the writer for five projects that won Themed Entertainment Association (THEA) Awards. She has appeared in the Disney+ series Behind the Attraction, the Freeform television special Star Wars: Galaxy‘s Edge – Adventure Awaits, and the online educational program Imagineering in a Box. She was a Disney Imagineer from 2014-2021. She is currently a Sr. Experiential Creative Lead at Airbnb. Immersive Storytelling for Real and Imagined Worlds – A Writer’s Guide is her first book.

Allan McKay-Interview: LOVE DEATH ROBOTS Director Emily Dean

Making a film by yourself? Wondering what it takes to become a filmmaker? Need some filmmaking inspiration or filmmaking tips for directors? In this Video, Director, Writer and Artist Emily Dean gives filmmaking advice and artist tips. Emily Dean is an Asian-Australian writer, director, and artist living in LA. She writes, directs and executive produces content for film and television under her production banner Grade 8 Productions.In 2012, Emily’s animated short film FORGET ME NOT was nominated for an Australian Academy Award (AACTA), and in 2018 her first live action sci fi short film ANDROMEDA played and was awarded at numerous genre fests including the Trieste Science Fiction Festival.

Emily recently directed THE VERY PULSE OF THE MACHINE, written by Philip Gelatt and based on the Hugo Award -winning short story by Michael Swanwick for Volume 3 of the Emmy-award winning Netflix R-rated animated series LOVE DEATH + ROBOTS, under the creative leadership team of Tim Miller, David Fincher, and Jennifer Yuh Nelson. In 2019, Emily was awarded Variety Magazine’s Top 10 Animators To Watch; and in 2021, Emily was named one of Piaget’s Extraordinary Women. Emily is also currently serving a term on the inaugural Alumni Advisory Committee for the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS) for 2022-2023.

In this Allan McKay interview, Emily talks about her journey as an artist, making short films, gives advice on how to start out in VFX, talks about the importance of following your passion. She shares her experience directing LOVE DEATH + ROBOTS for Netflix, as well as collaborating with Tim Miller. She also shares resources for an artist career – including on her website https://emilydean.net – talks about the importance of having a positive mindset, discipline and consistent learning for artists – and gives advice to young filmmakers: Don’t overthink it! Archetypes and Mythology. Why They Matter Even More So Today | Kristina Dryza | TEDxKaunas 2020

How to think mythically and sense archetypally to better understand our shared humanity, yet honour the diverse ways we live and make meaning. Australian-born Lithuanian Kristina Dryza is recognised as one of the world’s top female futurists and is also an archetypal consultant and author. Kristina has always been fascinated by patterns for she feels we are patterned beings in a patterned universe. She writes and speaks about the patterning of seasonal, tidal, lunar and circadian rhythms and their influence on creativity, innovation and leadership. She also explores archetypes and mythology to perceive the patterns in the collective unconscious and their expression within our psyches, society and media. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
