With a global impact from their 17 feature films and numerous high-quality episodic series, Mikros Animation strengthens our creative ecosystem alongside Alchemy 24, Rodeo FX Advertising & Experiences, Rodeo FX Audio, and Rodeo Production.

This is according to a Linkedin post from the law firm advising Technicolor Canada on the sale of Mikros Animation: https://lnkd.in/ey-v9QEGOn March 25, 2025, the Superior Court of Quebec approved the sale of Mikros Animation, a division of Technicolor Canada, Inc., itself a Canadian subsidiary of Technicolor Group.Concurrent with the acquisition of the assets of the Mikros Animation division in Quebec, the purchaser Rodeo FX will also acquire the assets of the Mikros Animation division in France.

The post mentions that:
„This approach will facilitate the completion of the transaction, as the Technicolor Group is an internationally integrated company.
Also due to the international nature of the Mikros Animation division’s activities, this simultaneous acquisition of its assets in Quebec and France required the unprecedented collaboration of the Paris Economic Activities Tribunal and the Superior Court of Quebec.“

The completion of this transaction will ensure the continuity of the operation of the Mikros Animation division in both Quebec and France and preserve up to 207 animation jobs in Montreal, in addition to the 80 jobs in the Mikros Animation division in France.

CEO Bob Iger announced during the company’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders that Disney and Pixar’s ‚Coco 2,‘ the follow-up to the 2017 Academy Award®-winning feature film ‚Coco,‘ is in the works

Disney and Pixar’s Coco 2, the follow-up to the 2017 Academy Award®-winning feature film Coco, is in the works at Pixar Animation Studios. The announcement was made moments ago by CEO Bob Iger during The Walt Disney Company’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders. “While the film is just in the initial stages, we know it will be full of humor, heart and adventure,” said Iger. “And we can’t wait to share more soon.”

Coco 2 reunites the team behind the original film, including director Lee Unkrich (Coco, Toy Story 3) and co-director Adrian Molina (Coco). Oscar®-winning producer Mark Nielsen (Toy Story 4, Inside Out 2) will produce.

Disney and Pixar’s Coco introduced Miguel, a 12-year-old who dreamed of becoming a musician despite his family’s generations-old ban on music, who ventures to the vibrant Land of the Dead to unlock the real story behind his family history. Coco won two Academy Awards for best animated feature and best original song (“Remember Me”). The film also won a Golden Globe® for best motion picture–animated, a BAFTA for best animated film, and critics’ choice awards for best animated feature and best song (“Remember Me”).

Die Walt Disney Company (Germany) GmbH erlaubt uns dankenswerter Weise 20 Animations- und VFX Schaffende zu der exklusiven Footage Präsentation von Pixars „Elio“ einzuladen.

Die Produzentin des Films, Mary Alice Drumm wird einen ersten Einblick in die neue Pixar-Produktion geben, die im Sommer in die Kinos kommen wird. Die Veranstaltung ist auf eine Stunde angesetzt und schliesst ein Q&A mit Produzentin Drumm und dem anwesenden Publikum ein.

Diesen Sommer kommt ein intergalaktisches Abenteuer auf uns zu: Mit ELIO präsentieren die Pixar Animation Studios eine abenteuerliche Geschichte für die große Leinwand, so gar nicht von dieser Welt, aber voller Fantasie und Herz.

Der junge Elio, ein verträumter Außenseiter, wird durch ein Missverständnis ins geheime Kommuniversum gebracht und dort irrtümlich als Anführer der Erde gefeiert. Um seine Welt zu beschützen, stürzt er sich in ene abenteuerlicheMission und trifft dabei auf außergewöhnliche Verbündete. Aber was wäre, wenn das wonach Elio sucht, ihn längst gefunden hat.

Produziert wird der Film von Mary Alice Drumm, die sich mit ihrer herausragenden Arbeit unter anderem an „Coco: Lebendiger als das Leben!“ einen Namen gemacht hat.

Mary Alice Drumm wird in München persönlich anwesend sein und exklusive Einblicke hinter die Kulissen dieses einzigartigen Films gewähren. Im Anschluss an die Präsentation steht Mary Alice Drumm für ein Q&A zur Verfügung.

All-new 4K restoration in IMAX theatres starting March 26 Screening in both the original Japanese w/ English subtitles and English dub

First released in 1997, PRINCESS MONONOKE is one of Director Hayao Miyazaki’s early features. The now classic title remains a cultural touch point and has maintained an immeasurable influence on modern cinema. The hand-drawn, animated feature is an original story written and directed by Studio Ghibli co-founder Hayao Miyazaki, produced by co-founder Toshio Suzuki, and features a musical score from Miyazaki’s long-time collaborator, the renowned composer Joe Hisaishi. The IMAX version of the film was created from a new 4K restoration directly overseen by Studio Ghibli’s own Atsushi Okui, who has been involved in nearly every major Studio Ghibli project since he first started at the studio in 1993. Okui’s most recent credit with the studio was as Director of Digital Imaging on Miyazaki’s Academy Award-winning The Boy and the Heron, which was also the first Studio Ghibli film to screen in IMAX format.
