Technicolor troubles reach further than the US – New messaging just sent to studios globally | Technicolor likely closing all US operations as of Monday 24th Feb

Dear Team

As we have communicated over the past months, the Group has been experiencing difficulties linked to a variety of factors and has not been spared from external headwinds: the difficult operational situation resulting from post-covid recovery, a costly and complex separation from the previous group followed by the writers‘ strike leading to a slowdown in customer orders causing severe cash flow pressures.

Today, the company must face reality. Due to inability to find new investors for the full Group, despite extensive efforts, Technicolor Group has filed for Court “recovery procedure” before the French Court of Justice to give a chance to enable to find solutions.

In each country, the appropriate framework for orderly protection and way forward is currently being put in place to allow, when possible, to remain in business continuity.

This decision was not taken lightly; every possible path to preserve our legacy and secure the future of our teams will be thoroughly explored to offer a chance to each of its activity to be pursued with new investors.

Technicolor is more than just a company, it is a community of talented, passionate, and creative individuals who have brought some of the most iconic visual experiences to life. The work we create together demonstrates our dedication and artistry and defines Technicolor.

As we move forward, our priority is to support you through this transition. Given the complexities of labor laws and regulations across the different countries in which we operate, this process will be conducted on a country-by-country basis, ensuring compliance with local frameworks, and providing the necessary support for each of you.

We recognize that this is an incredibly difficult moment, and we are here to support you in any way we can.

In each of your countries, you will receive a dedicated email in relation to your situation in due time.

With deepest appreciation and respect,

Caroline Parot

The Sound and LEGO Animation of Piece by Piece, with Director Morgan Neville | #DolbyCreatorTalks

Pharrell Williams has had a remarkable life and career in music, which are chronicled in the film “Piece By Piece,” a uniquely animated documentary made entirely out of LEGO. Joining today’s discussion is Director Morgan Neville, Supervising Sound Editor Al Nelson, and Re-recording Mixer Pete Horner, to talk how Pharrell’s creative vision for using LEGO opened up exciting storytelling possibilities, the film’s imaginative sound design and immersive audio mix, and how they brought Pharrell’s experience with synesthesia to life through sound and animation. “This film had so many more opportunities than a documentary normally [has]. Because of animation, I felt like we could time- and space-travel… That kind of freedom I got incredibly excited by. Normally we have so many constrictions, but both in terms of what I could do with sound, but also particularly with Pharrell, what I could do visually with sound. Both in terms of creating the synesthesia effect — which he sees color when he hears sound, and that we could actually see that — and by creating the beats, represented by physical objects of color, too. So that, from a storytelling point of view, was great.” —Morgan Neville, Director, Writer, and Producer, “Piece By Piece” Be sure to check out Piece by Piece, now in theaters and Dolby Cinemas in stunning Dolby Vision® and Dolby Atmos®.

Berlin, 13.2.2025 –PM

Täglich einen Kurzen: Looney Tunes | Wile E. Coyote Takes On the Road Runner | by Chuck Jones | Compilation | Warner Classics

Coyote and the Road Runner cartoons from the 1940’s and 50’s! Zipping Along (Original Air Date – September 19, 1953): Hypnosis doesn’t help the Coyote catch the Road Runner, nor do a clutch of string-controlled rifles or dozens of mousetraps, but they all manage to backfire on him, naturally. Beep, Beep (Original Air Date – May 24, 1952): The Coyote chases the Road Runner through a maze of mine shafts, with their positions made visible only by the lamps on their helmets.
