Köln, 21.09.2017 – Am 28. Oktober 2017 werden in Köln zum fünften Mal die Auszeichnungen der DEUTSCHEN AKADEMIE FÜR FERNSEHEN (DAFF) verliehen. Aus den vielen hundert Einreichungen stehen nun die Nominierten in den 21 Auszeichnungskategorien fest. Aus ihnen werden die über 800 Akademiemitglieder in den nächsten Wochen die Besten wählen.

Die AKADEMIE zeichnet die Fernsehschaffenden aller kreativen Gewerke des Fernsehens jährlich für ihre persönlichen herausragenden Leistungen bei der Herstellung deutscher Fernsehprogramme aus.

Am 28. Oktober 2017 werden die Namen der Preisträger in einer feierlichen Abendveranstaltung bekannt gegeben und die Gewinner mit der Auszeichnung der DEUTSCHEN AKADEMIE FÜR FERNSEHEN im Filmforum NRW im Museum Ludwig in Köln geehrt.

„Unser Vorbild sind die amerikanischen Emmys: Die Fernsehschaffenden zeichnen die Besten ihrer Kolleginnen und Kollegen aus.“, sagt Frank Godt Vorstandsmitglied der DEUTSCHEN AKADEMIE FÜR FERNSEHEN. Jochen Greve, ebenfalls Vorstandsmitglied der DEUTSCHEN AKADEMIE FÜR FERNSEHEN, fügt hinzu: „Kreative wählen die besten Arbeiten ihrer Kollegen. Was kann demokratischer und aussagekräftiger sein, um die herausragenden Leistungen eines Programmjahres zu bestimmen?“.

  • Jan Adamczyk und Denis Behnke für „Der gleiche Himmel“
  • Juri Stanossek für „Gotthard“
  • Stefan Kessner, Markus Hauf und Max Stolzenberg für „Winnetou – Der Mythos lebt“

CARTOON is an international non-profit association based in Brussels organizing Cartoon Forum, along with Cartoon Movie, a co-production forum for feature-length animation; and the Cartoon Master training seminars.

Cartoon Forum is a pitching & co-pro forum for animated TV projects. For 3 days, producers have the opportunity to pitch their project in front of 950 broadcasters, investors and other potential partners from 40 countries.

Created in 1990 to boost the co-production and distribution of European animation for television and new media platforms, Cartoon Forum has built since a true network of transborder cooperation, by restoring confidence in the relationship between producers and broadcasters, and by showing that there is sufficient on offer, of quality, within the European Union. Cartoon Forum has helped 706 animation series obtain financing to the tune of over 2,4 billion euros. And the results are considerable. European animation has become now the leader on its own territory. The main partners of Cartoon Forum Toulouse are Creative Europe – MEDIA, CNC (Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée), Region Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée, Mairie de Toulouse, Toulouse Métropole, Casino Barrière and France Télévisions.

France leads the line-up by country with 28 projects followed by Ireland with 9 projects, Belgium and Poland with 5 projects each, which confirm their solid production trend. Four projects will be presented by Finland, Italy, Spain and the UK. Animation production continues to expand across the rest of Europe: Germany, Portugal, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Netherlands, Sweden, …

On June 16, 2017, during the Annecy Festival, GKIDS, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and Variety announced the creation of ANIMATION IS FILM, a Los Angeles-Based Animation Film Festival.

This ambitious project around animation now comes into being and takes place October 20-22, 2017 at the TCL Chinese 6 Theater, Hollywood.

DIAF, Dresden: Sonderausstellung „Kurze Geschichte des langen Animationsfilms“ in den Technischen Sammlungen Dresden

Eine Ausstellung des Deutschen Instituts für Animationsfilm vom 01.10.2017 bis 25.03.2018

Erstmals werden Zeichen-, Puppen- und Silhouettenanimationshelden aus drei Generationen in einer Ausstellung zur Geschichte des deutschen Langmetrage-Animationsfilms präsentiert. Originalmaterialien zu exemplarischen Filmen in ihrem Entstehungskontext sowie Filmclips sind bis 25. März 2018 in einer Sonderausstellung in Dresden zu sehen.

Die Produktion von Animationsfilmen in Spielfilmlänge ist ein aufwendiges Unterfangen. Nur knapp 30 Titel mit einer Länge von 1000 Metern (ca. 35 Minuten) oder länger entstanden in beiden deutschen Staaten bis 1990. In den vergangenen 25 Jahren stieg zwar einerseits die Anzahl der Produktionen erheblich. Jedoch richten sich die Produktionen überwiegend an Kinder und bilden nicht die Schaffensvielfalt der Animationskunst in Deutschland ab.

Die eigens für diese Sonderausstellung des Deutschen Instituts für Animationsfilm zusammengestellte chronologische Filmografie mit mehr als 100 Titeln ist der erste Schritt zur systematischen Aufzeichnung der Geschichte des deutschen Langmetrage-Animationsfilms von 1945 bis heute.

 

Die Ausstellung wird kuratiert von Dr. Rolf Giesen, Dr. Volker Petzold sowie Nadja Rademacher und entsteht in Kooperation mit den Technischen Sammlungen Dresden und dank freundlicher Leihgaben von Museum für Film und Fernsehen – Rolf Giesen Sammlung, Deutsches Filminstitut, Frankfurt am Main / Nachlass Curt Linda bzw. Bildarchiv sowie Firmenarchiven.
