The first season of 26 episodes is really loved by the audience. Many ask for more. So we decided to go for a second season: 26 new episodes, 26 new animals, produced in German and English, with our voice talents of season one, Kaya and Olive. We are already in the process of writing the stories and designing the characters. Here are some of Angela’s sketches:
Die erste Staffel mit 26 Episoden wird vom Publikum geliebt. Viele Zuschauer wollen mehr. Also haben wir uns die zweite Staffel vorgenommen: 26 neue Episoden, 26 neue Tiere, produziert in Deutsch und Englisch mit den bewährten Stimmen von Kaya und Olive. Wir sind schon dabei, Geschichten zu schreiben und Figuren zu gestalten.
We already have an animatic for Patchwork Cat. This is a moving storyboard that shows how the story works – just by using drawings, layout sound and the voice of the director. The final design, the colors, the original voice, and especially the animation will be added later. It’s like a sketch of the film.
Für die Katze haben wir schon ein Animatic. Das ist ein in Bewegung gesetztes Storyboard, das zeigt, wie die Geschichte funktioniert – mit einfachen Zeichnungen, Layout-Sound und der Stimme der Regisseurin. Das finale Design, die Farben, die Original-Sprecherstimme und – besonders wichtig – die Animation werden später hinzugefügt. Bis jetzt ist es also eher eine Skizze des Films.
We are asking you to help finance the animation of the new 26 episodes. All of the preparation – the scripts, the animatics, the design, the layouts, and even the sound – is already financed and on the way. Just the main production step is missing: the animation. We need to animate 104 minutes. A team of 3 to 4 animators will work on it for 13 months. The budget for this step is 90,000 Euro. Studio FILM BILDER can cover 70,000 Euro from its own savings. 20,000 Euro are needed. The Kickstarter goal of 25,000 will allow us to spend 20,000 for the animation, as we calculate 5,000 for the costs of the rewards as well as the Kickstarter fees. Die komplette Vorbereitung – Drehbücher, Animatics, Design, Layouts, sogar der Sound – ist bereits bezahlt und in vollem Gange. Nur der wichtigste Produktionsschritt fehlt noch: die Animation. Wir müssen 104 Minuten animieren. Ein Team von drei bis vier Animatoren wird 13 Monate lang daran arbeiten. Das Budget dafür liegt bei 90.000 Euro. Studio FILM BILDER kann 70.000 Euro davon aus eigenen Rücklagen finanzieren. 20.000 Euro werden noch gebraucht.
