Bereits während der FMX 2017 gab es Gerüchte um eine Trennung der Filmakademie/Animationsinstitut i.e. der Leitung der FMX vom langjährigen Executive Director der FMX, Jean Michel Blottiere.
Nun wurde die Trennung offiziell bekannt gegeben.
In einem Schreiben dankte die Führung des Animationsinstituts und der FMX Jean Michel Blottiere für seine langjährige Mitarbeit.
Ein Nachfolger wurde bislang nicht genannt. Auf Anfrage teilte die Leitung der FMX mit, es wolle dies im Weiteren unkommentiert lassen.

Dear friends of FMX,
FMX 2017 is over and we hope you had an interesting, inspiring time „Beyond the Screen“. We also hope that you all got home safely.
From May 2 to 5, FMX assembled 307 speakers and 4000 attendees, that’s even more than last year’s visitor record. Internationality increased in 2017: people traveled to Stuttgart from 61 countries from as far away as Indonesia. All in all, 40 % of all visitors came from abroad. FMX brought together attendees from the whole range of digital visual arts – spanning from analog drawing to dome projection – to discuss the synergies of their trades/ industries, among them 67,5% professionals and 32,5% students. Together with all of you we once again made FMX a huge success and we look forward to our further collaboration.
We would also like to inform you, that Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg has ended the cooperation with NX Publishing and Jean-Michel Blottière. We would like to thank Jean-Michel for his dedication to FMX and wish him all the best for the future.
Like every year the FMX-Team is already working on the next FMX to ensure the event will take place for the benefit of the international Animation, VFX and Games community and according to the vision of Filmakademie´s Animationsinstitut.
