German Animations Still in Demand – AG Kurzfilm at the Festival International du Film d’Animation in Annecy

Four short German animations in the International Competition – a total 14 German animations and co-productions in the various festival sections – AG Kurzfilm and German Films once again with a market stand on MIFA – publication of tenth DVD edition „New German Animations“

The Festival International du Film d’Animation in Annecy is one of the most important festivals for animated film worldwide. The attached film market MIFA is equally one of the most important industry meeting points of the international animation scene.

For its 56th edition, the festival invited numerous German short films and co-productions into the various sections and competitions.

With BAMBUSTEMPELSTRASSE by Baoying Bilgeri, DIE GESCHICHTE VON FUCHS, DER DEN VERSTAND VERLOR (THE STORY OF THE FOX WHO LOST HIS MIND) by Christian Asmussen and Matthias Bruhn, KAPUTT (BROKEN – THE WOMEN’S PRISON AT HOHENECK) by Volker Schlecht and Alexander Lahl as well as SOON by Markus Kempken, a total of four German shorts are competing in the International Short Film Competition for the “Cristal d’Annecy”. Out of Competition will be screened TRIAL & ERROR by Antje Heyn. Another four German productions are part of the Graduation Films in Competition: EYE FOR AN EYE by Steve Bache, Louise Peter and Mahyar Goudarzi, FRANKFURTER STR. 99A by Evgenia Gostrer, MAZIER by Anja Großwig and WHAT THEY BELIEVE by Shoko Hara. Many more German contributions have found their way into the Commissioned Films in Competitionsection.

For the tenth time, the AG Kurzfilm and German Films are present with a booth at the MIFA(MARCHÉ INTERNATIONAL DU FILM D’ANIMATION), the festival’s film market. Industry professionals can get there information on the recent developments of German animations in all their peculiarities, ways of expression and styles. Furthermore, it serves as a contact and information point for the German and international animation scene.

With „New German Animations“ the tenth edition of the preview DVD of AG Kurzfilm and German Films will be presented in Annecy. It introduces recent short German animations to festival representatives, curators and buyers.
