The panel discussion „The Present and Future of Virtual Reality“ with Neil Schneider (The ITA), Simon Benson (SCE WWS), Daniel O’Brien (HTC), Alon Melchner (Wakingapp), Dr Michael Madary (Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz) and Dr. Jon Peddie (JPR) was part of FMX 2016, which took place from April 26 to 29, 2016 in Stuttgart, Germany.
From the program:
Seemingly overnight, virtual reality has taken the world by storm with new technology, new experiences, and an industry-wide energy to make it work. VR experiences that were once only possible for tens of thousands of dollars can now be had for hundreds, and the industry is poised for mass adoption in the PC, mobile, and console markets. Grasping the technology is only the first step. What follows is a deeper understanding of how this will impact story telling, how we will experience our content, and what the ethical ramifications are if any.
