FOUNDRY: Ultraman: Rising animation process — with Katana, Mari & Nuke

Watch how ILM created Ultraman: Rising using Foundry tools

The award-winning Ultraman: Rising is the first animated feature from Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) since 2011’s Rango. And it was worth the wait. The studio crafted a distinctive, stylized look using Katana, Mari, and Nuke across a staggering 1,600 shots, including thousands of unique assets.

We went behind the scenes with ILM to find out how the team used a Foundry-powered pipeline to build an entirely new aesthetic that reflects anime and manga influences, and also honors the legacy of the classic super-sized hero.
