(english version scroll down!)Vom 26. April bis zum 1. Mai 2016 findet das 23. Internationale Trickfilm-Festival Stuttgart statt, eines der wichtigsten Ereignisse der Animationsfilmwelt! Das ITFS bietet Filmschaffenden, Regisseuren und Produktionsfirmen eine professionelle Plattform, ihre Filme sowohl einem breiten Publikum als auch Fachbesuchern zu zeigen. Trickfilmfans jeden Alters haben die Möglichkeit, sechs Tage lang animierte Kurz- und Langfilme aller Genres zu bestaunen.Auf dem Festival wird die große Bandbreite des aktuellen Animationsfilms mit seinen Schnittstellen zu Architektur, Kunst, Design und Games präsentiert. Mehr als 80.000 Besucher sahen sich beim letzten Internationalen Trickfilm-Festival Stuttgart über 1.000 Filme in über 200 Einzelveranstaltungen an. Beim großen Open Air Film-Event auf dem Stuttgarter Schlossplatz waren tausende Zuschauer von den weltweit besten Animationsfilmen begeistert.Durch die einmalige Kombination von Trickfilm-Festival, Animation Production Day und dem Fachkongress FMX hat sich die Veranstaltung zu einer wichtigen Plattform zur Finanzierung und Entwicklung von Animationsprojekten entwickelt. Das Festival bietet zudem einen intensiven Austausch zwischen Professionals der Animationsfilmbranche und fördert junge Talente. In den Wettbewerben werden Preisgelder von über 50.000 Euro vergeben.Die Einreichungsfrist endet am 1. Dezember 2015

Das Internationale Trickfilm-Festival Stuttgart – Festival of Animated Film (ITFS), 26. April – 1. Mai 2016, wurde 1982 gegründet und ist eines der weltweit größten und wichtigsten Festivals für Animationsfilm. In den Wettbewerbskategorien werden über 50.000 Euro Preisgeld vergeben. Das ITFS arbeitet eng mit der FMX zusammen, Europas größter Fachkonferenz für Animation, Effekte, Games und Transmedia, und veranstaltet gemeinsam mit der FMX die Businessplattform Animation Production Day

Call for Entries: Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film
Spring 2016 will get animated again – Stuttgart invites to the great world of animation!
The Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film ITFS is one of the most outstanding events for animated film worldwide. The Festival takes into its scope the spectrum of current productions in the animated film sector, including the intersections between games, architecture, art, design and comedy. With GameZone, the ITFS takes an especially close look at transmedia and the convergence of animation and computer games. The Festival offers directors as well as production and distribution companies a platform to present their films to an interested and large audience as well as countless members of the industry. Stuttgart will 2016 once more become the centre of the world with regards to animated film for six days and nights.
The Festival has developed into a leading event for animated film in Germany and is regarded as one of the most important and biggest events for animated film around the world. Stuttgart‘s city centre provides a one-of-a–kind backdrop for the Festival’s open-air film screenings, lending them a truly special atmosphere. The large LED projection screen allows for shows of animated short films and popular features to be screened day and night, which makes the ITFS a true family festival. In 2015, more than 80,000 visitors came to Stuttgart and watched more than 1,000 films. World-renowned animators
such as Stephen Hillenburg (SpongeBob) and Jannik Hastrup, David Silverman (The Simpsons) have expressed how much they love the Festival’s unique and intimate atmosphere.
Artistic animation and the promotion of up and coming talent make up the core of the ITFS. The various competition categories award cash prizes totalling more than 50,000 euros. Together, the ITFS, the Animation Production Day, and the first-class industry conference FMX have developed into an important platform for the financing and development of animated projects.
Submission deadline: December 1, 2015
Animated films produced after October 1, 2013, can be submitted for the following competition categories
- International Competition (Short film competition)
- Young Animation (Student film competition)
- Tricks for Kids – shorts and series (Competition for short films and TV series for children)
- ·Cartoons for Teens (Competition for animated short films and series, animes and machinimas for youths)
- AniMovie (Feature-length film competition)
- Animated Com Award – Award for advertising, technology and communication in the area of commissioned animation work
