Hier einige Highlights des Animationsfilmfestivals in Annecy 2019 – Have a look!

See you on 10th June for an animated week! On the programme: 214 selected films, numerous screening events, virtual reality for everyone, Japanese animation and gastronomy are in the spotlight… Just a few of the Festival highlights!

Playmobil: The Movie, Opens the Event, Preceded by an Episode of Looney Tunes Cartoons

playmobil For the opening ceremony on Monday 10th June let’s return to our childhood universe! Director Lino DiSalvo, and producer Aton Soumache, will present the world premiere of Playmobil: The Movie, from the world of mini-figures.

And, before this screening, the Festival is also showing the new series from Warner Bros. the Looney Tunes Cartoons world premiere, where you can catch up with Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and others! In the episode Mummy Dummy, Bugs Bunny inadvertently finds himself in an Egyptian pyramid where he bumps into a murderous mummy on his way to Las Vegas…

Outstanding Sessions

Throughout the Festival see unreleased and highly-anticipated screenings during the Screening Events, such as:

The world premiere screening of Modest Heroes, with three short films (Kanini & Kanino by Hiromasa Yonebayashi, Life Ain’t Gonna Lose by Yoshiyuki Momose and Invisible by Akihiko Yamashita) produced by Studio Ponoc, and screened in the presence of their directors, Monday 10th at 4:00 pm, at Bonlieu Grande salle

DreamWorks will present the first shots of its upcoming films, featuring Abominable, a co-production with Pearl Studio, which is scheduled to be released in the US in September and in France on 23rd October. This film was written and directed by Jill Culton, produced by Suzanne Buirgy and co-directed by Todd Wilderman.
Following excerpts from the studio’s 2020 releases – Trolls World Tour, presented by director Walt Dohrn… –, the programme will conclude with the World Première of Marooned, a short directed by Andy Erekson and produced by Jeff Hermann

The French premiere of Toy Story 4 on Friday 14th at 4:00 pm, at the Bonlieu Grande salle, preceded by the special presentation of images from Frozen 2, and a world premiere of three short films from the Short Circuit collection at 10:30 am, at the Bonlieu Grande salle

The world premiere of Spycies in the presence of the director Guillaume Ivernel, and Davy Mourier, the French voice-over, Friday 14th at 6:30 pm, at the Bonlieu Grande salle

A world exclusive screening of the film Human Lost by Fuminori Kizaki Friday 14th at 8:30 pm, at the Bonlieu Grande salle

 

Midnight Specials: the late night screenings that are as outrageous as ever!

Programmes from Spike & Mike’s Sick and Twisted Animation Festival, Titmouse presents…, the film Aragne: Sign of Vermillion… The Festival’s late night screenings, reserved for seasoned audiences, are back!

Brought together by programme planner Sébastien Sperer, the WTF screenings are back in the Bonlieu theatres. An off-beat programme destined for adult audiences, with humor, criticism, politics and dreamlike fables, and a bit of malice thrown in for free, which should leave you all gobsmacked! More info

Annecy Classics: timeless films that have influenced animation history

Tribute to Venus Wars by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko; The White Snake Enchantress by Taiji Yabushita and Hiroshi Okawa, the first Japanese colour animation; Gwen, the Book of Sand by Jean-François Laguionie; Les Shadoks, droit dans le mur à toutes pompes… The Festival celebrates some timeless animation works.

The CNC will also be celebrating 50 years of the French Film Archives Friday 14th at 2:30 pm.

Our honored guest, the Japanese director Yôichi Kotabe, will give a Masterclass on Monday 10th and present a Making of devoted to the series Marco by Isao Takahata Friday 14th

The director Lino DiSalvo (Playmobil: The Movie), is also doing a signing session Tuesday 11th

Stars are presenting Ratatouille by Brad Bird on the Pâquier Tuesday 11th: the Michelin-starred chefs Yoann Conte, Laurent Petit and Jean Sulpice will be launching the screening!

Talents from Walt Disney Animation and Pixar: Becky Bresee, Marlon West (Frozen 2), Josh Cooley, Mark Nielsen, Jonas Rivera (Toy Story 4), Jerry Huynh, Brian Menz and Natalie Nourigat (Short Circuit short films) are present Friday 14th

Monsieur Poulpe and Davy Mourier, who do voices in the Spycies film will also be present

Director Jan Kounen, whose film Ayahuasca – KosmiK Journey will compete in the VR Works category
